Road maintenance and resurfacing works under way in Ottery
23 April 2026
The City of Cape Town has commenced road resurfacing works along Ottery Road, New Ottery Road and Old Strandfontein Road in Ottery. The project started today and is scheduled to continue until Monday, 15 June 2026. Construction will take place between 09:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday, with some work also scheduled at night from 19:00 to 05:00.
‘The City’s Roads Infrastructure Management team has started resurfacing works along Ottery Road. The work includes resurfacing the existing road surface, replacing damaged kerbs and reinstating road markings. This essential maintenance will help extend the life of the road and ensure safer, smoother travel for all road users, as we continue working to keep Cape Town moving on good-quality roads,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
The City urges residents and motorists to proceed with caution in the vicinity of the roadworks and to plan for potential delays. Where feasible, alternative routes are recommended.
